Cookies and browser storage used by UPSC Genie AI
Cookies and similar browser technologies help the app remember your device, language and session, understand product use, process payments and measure advertising.
1. What these technologies are
A cookie is a small text value stored by a browser. Local storage and session storage perform similar device-side functions. Pixels and server event APIs can transmit interaction data without storing the same kind of browser value. This policy uses “cookies” broadly for these technologies where appropriate.
2. Categories used

3. Data linked to measurement
Analytics and advertising providers may receive a page URL, referrer, approximate location derived from IP address, browser/device details, event name and identifiers. Product analytics is designed not to include your UPSC questions, answer text, Gmail contents, Google password, full card details or UPI PIN.
For confirmed server-side advertising events, email or phone matching values may be normalised and cryptographically hashed before transfer. Hashed information remains protected personal data and is handled accordingly.
4. Your choices
On your first visit, optional analytics and advertising measurement stay off until you make a choice. You can accept all optional technologies, reject all of them, or allow either category separately. Necessary storage remains active because it supports account, progress, security, sign-in and payment-return functions.
- Change or withdraw your choice at any time using “Cookie settings” on the site or in the app. Withdrawing a category removes known first-party measurement cookies and reloads the page so the already-loaded measurement script stops.
- Use browser settings to view, block or delete cookies and site data.
- Clear local storage to remove device-only identifiers and drafts; this may sign you out or remove unsynchronised work.
- Use Google's Analytics opt-out browser add-on or Google advertising controls where available.
- Use Meta advertising preferences and browser controls to limit Meta cookies.
- Contact admin@upscgenie.com with a privacy objection or withdrawal request.
Rejecting advertising measurement also prevents UPSC Genie from sending registration, checkout and purchase events through Meta's server-side Conversions API. Browser-level blocking may not prevent strictly necessary server logs or a processor from handling information required to complete a sign-in or payment you request.

6. Changes
Cookie names, durations and providers can change when browsers or services update. We will revise this page when our material use changes.
